CIAM and BASTRI discussed possibilities for cooperation
On 31 May 2017, a delegation of the Beijing Aeronautical Science & Technology Research Institute of COMAC (BASTRI) paid a working visit to the P.I. Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Motors (CIAM, part of the Zhukovsky Institute National Research Center).
BASTRI is one of the member organizations of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China. Its mission is developing fundamental, forward-looking technologies for large civilian aircraft and preliminary design of COMAC’s future aircraft. One of its recent works is formulation of an initial technical plan for the Russian-Chinese longhaul widebody commercial aircraft.
Mikhail Gordin, Director General of the CIAM, took part in the meeting and provided the Chinese colleagues with an overview of the Institute’s core activities.
The parties discussed possibilities for co-operation.
