CIAM took part in the IV International Technological Forum "Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing"

A delegation of the P. I. Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Motors (CIAM, part of the Scientific Research Center “Institute named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky”), headed by Mikhail Gordin, the Director General, participated in the IV International Technological Forum "Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing". The event took place on April 24 – 27, 2017, at the P. A. Solovyev Rybinsk State Aviation Technological University in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region.

Engineers, scientists and experts representing government authorities, State corporations, R&D establishments, development institutions, private enterprises, discussed during the forum formation of advanced technology development projects and consortia in order to enable the ‘Factories of the Future’ development, as well as priority tendencies of future markets. 

The ‘Factory of the Future’ project was formed within the National Technology Initiative, a long-term program of the economy development for the next 15-20 years. By a ‘Factory of the Future’ is meant a system of complex high-tech solutions enabling design and manufacturing of a globally competitive production during minimum time. The key purpose of this project is to form a complex of international level competencies based on the integration of business models and advanced manufacturing technologies, such as, i.e., digital design and modeling (including supercomputing engineering), additive and hybrid technologies, virtual and augmented reality technologies etc.

CIAM actively participated in the forum events. The members of the delegation spoke in the sections: “Alternative Types of Energy”, “Engine-building. An Electric Engine for an Electric Aircraft. Hybrid Power Plant Systems”, “Additive Manufacturing”, the round table “Innovative GTE Repair Technologies”. Also, the deputy head of the CIAM’s electric (hybrid) propulsion units, systems and aerial devices department Victor Zakharchenko was a moderator of the section “Alternative Types of Energy”.

The forum was organized by the NPO Saturn PJSC, the P. A. Solovyev Rybinsk State Aviation Technological University, the Administration of Yaroslavl Region and the Administration of the city of Rybinsk. Among the co-organizers of the sections and round tables there are the Skolkovo Fund, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics etc.
