Oleg Favorsky, CIAM’s Adviser to Director General, Academician of RAS, awarded the Order of Friendship of China
On 1 October 2017, the day of the 68th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Oleg Favorsky, Academician of Russain Academy of Sciences and Academic Adviser to Director General of the CIAM, was awarded the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China.
The festive award ceremony took place in the Great Assembly Hall, Beijing.
The Order of Friendship was established for foreigners who help develop China. It has been awarded for 50 years. Since then, around 1500 individuals have been awarded the Order of Friendship. In 2017, 46 people from throughout the world have been elected. Oleg Favorsky has become the third representative of Russia in the half-century history of the Order’s existence. The Order was presented to him by the Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang and Vice Premier of the State Council Ma Kai.
Speaking at the conference within the frame of the ceremony, Oleg Favorsky said: “I take the Order of Friendship not as my personal award, but as this of the CIAM. For over 25 years, the Institute has worked with Chinese specialists of four organizations on a wide range of aircraft engine construction issues”.
A great finishing chord of the ceremony became the celebratory banquet at which the President of the PRC Xi Jinping and around 2000 guests were present.
