CIAM researcher to represent Russia in CAEP

12 December 2018
In the end of November 2018, Artur Mirzoyan of the Central Institute of Aviation Motors was appointed the official representative of the Russian Federation in the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
He will participate in the development of coordinated decisions of CAEP member countries on issues related to the environmental impact of aviation, including aircraft noise, emission of harmful substances and CO2 emissions, use of alternative fuels etc., as well as coordinate activities of Russian experts in the CAEP working groups.
Resolving issues of reducing the impact of aviation on the environment has become more urgent as new technology is being developed, including next generation supersonic passenger aircraft. In the capacity of a representative of Russia at CAEP, Artur Mirzoyan will participate in the formation of new ecological standards taking into account the interests of Russian aircraft developers and operators.
The Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) is the Technical Committee of the ICAO established in 1983. The Council controls the environmental impact of international civil aviation through formulation and adoption of appropriate ecological Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
